FORMAT OF HEADER RECORDS IN PARABOLA RADIOMETRY FILES I. Format of header record in filtered data file ("PRBLLxxF.DAT") The header record is 76 bytes of ASCII text. It appears as the first record in the file, and is followed by data records for "ground" pixels. The header record is then repeated, and followed by data records for "sky" pixels. Fields in the header record are separated by one or more ASCII blanks. The fields are: 1 - File name or data ID 2 - Hemisphere ID (GR for ground, SK for sky) 3 - Latitude of the target site (-ve for south) 4 - Longitude of the target site (-ve for west of Greenwich) 5 - Date of the observations (e.g., 06-04-1987) 6 - Local time of the measurements (e.g. 15:22) 7 - Julian day (e.g., 155) 8 - GMT time of measurements (e.g. 20:22) 9 - Solar zenith angle 10,11,12 - Total hemispheric diffuse flux (upwelling or downwelling) (W/m**2/um) for channels 1, 2 and 3 respectively. II. Format of header record in averaged data file ("PRBLLxxA.DAT") The header record for an averaged data file has the same format as that for a filtered data file, with one exception: the solar zenith angle is given as the average over the whole scanning period of the three data sets used to create the file.
