BORRCTIO: CTIO Images and Photometry of 19P/Borrelly

This data set contains images and photometry of comet 19P/Borrelly obtained using the CFCCD camers at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory. Data were obtained by Beatirce Mueller over five nights: 28 July - 1 August 2000. Observational results were presented in Mueller and Samarasinha (2002).

• ZIP file of a sample of the data set (730 Mb), for downloading.
  Note: This data set consists of over 5Gb of FITS image files, which do not compress particularly well or quickly. The ZIP file above contains all the catalog files, the photometry table and the full index files, but only samples (7-16 images) of the images taken each night. If you want the entire dataset, contact Anne Raugh (raugh at astro.umd.edu) to make arrangements to download a tar file, or request a DVD.

Catalog Files

Catalog files contain the overview information and parameters used in loading the PDS central catalog, specifically, or for developing other interfaces to the data outside of PDS. The information they contain, particularly in their descriptive text fields, should be clear, complete, and understandable to a research user who is not necessarily an instrument specialist.

These files are located in the catalog/ subdirectory. The directory contents are described by the catinfo.txt file.

Data Files

The data files are located in the data/ subdirectories. Labels are in separate files from the data, with the same name as the data file but an extension of ".lbl".

The photometry is provided in a single ASCII summary table, photometry.tab (label file is photometry.lbl). The FITS-formatted images are located in the images subdirectories, separated by night:

Index Files

This directory contains an index into the data files included on this volume (in the data/ directory).
