     The Radio Science Handbook, Volume 4, is not the correct document for    
understanding the Galileo Venus Range Fix measurement in detail.  RSH         
Volume 4 may be useful as background on the general equipment capabilities    
and measurements possible.                                                    
                                                                              
     More details on the Range Fix may be found in Galileo Project Document   
625-460, Radio Science Operations Plan for the Ultrastable Oscillator/Redshift
Observations and Venus Range Fix Experiment (1 February 1990).  This document 
was not available in electronic form at the time the data were archived.      
                                                                              
     A short descriptive summary of the results was planned for DESCRIPT.TXT  
in the DOCUMENT directory.  But the file was corrupted before the archive was 
completed and no replacement could be obtained.
