           Content description of INDEX directory                             
                                                                              
The INDEX/ directory on these volumes contain information about the           
data sets stored on theses volumes. There are two index tables                
('*INDX.TAB') in this directory.  The index files are designed for            
easy ingestion into most Data Base Management Systems. Fields are             
separated by comma delimiters and string fields are enclosed in               
double quote characters (").  All index files are on all volumes              
in this volume set, although each data set is only on one volume              
in this volume set.

DIMINDX.TAB  - Digital Image Map (DIM) Data Set Index                         
                                                                              
            The data indices are organized as tables with each row            
            containing information about a data product and each              
            column an attribute of the data product.  The                     
            information in the table includes the CD volume number,           
            directory location, file name, etc.   Refer to the                
            corresponding PDS label ('*.LBL') for a detailed

            These PDS label files contains a detailed description of          
            their corresponding index table ('*.TAB'). They can be            
            accessed and viewed with an editor so that a user can             
            determine the contents and organization of a table                
            or they can be used with PDS tools to access the tables.          
            Refer to these files for detailed information and format          
            of the data index tables.                                         
                                                                              
The shape model data set itself is only on Volume NIEROS_4001;                
The DIM data set is only on Volume NIEROS_4002.
