PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM DATA_SET_ID = "HST-S-WFPC2-3-RPX-V1.0" OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 1999-06-01 NOTE = "This file reports any known errors and describes any known deviations from PDS standards." END_OBJECT = TEXT END Errata for RPX_0001-5 This file reports any known errors and describes any known deviations from PDS standards. (1) ASCII versions of documents This volume includes relevant excerpts from the HST Data Handbook in Postscript (.PS) and Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) formats. PDS standards require an ASCII version of all documents. A text version of this document has not been included because (a) the document is widely available from Space Telescope Science Institute; (b) this document is not a required component of PDS data volumes; it has been provided simply as a convenience to users; (c) Postscript and Acrobat are well-documented and widely used file formats; (d) the document would be of limited value without figures, equations and tables embedded; and (e) the effort involved to generate the ASCII version would be considerable. (2) Labels on software files The subdirectory SOFTWARE/UNZIP532 contains the source code for all versions of Unzip 5.32, the program needed to decompress the files provided on this volume in Zip format. This tree was constructed by unzipping the distributed zip file as provided by Info-ZIP at http://www.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/. PDS standards require that all files have labels. The files in this directory tree have not been labeled because: (a) this directory is intended merely to supplement the files provided in the root SOFTWARE directory, which include a complete description of the Zip file format; (b) pre-built binaries and source code for the Unzip software are available for essentially all platforms from Info-ZIP at http://www.cdrom.com/pub/infozip/; and (c) many of the source files are unique to a particular platform and their specific purpose is unknown to us. This subdirectory is included merely to provide additional assistance to future users of this volume if Zip ceases to be a widely-used file format and so it becomes necessary to write a program from scratch to unzip the data files. (3) It should be noted that the latest version of the NASAView software (2.5.2) cannot display these images. This is not due to errors in the file formats but to limitations of the software. Consult the PDS web site at http://pds.jpl.nasa.gov/ for software updates.
