                            GVDR Index Files                          
                            ================                          
                                                                      
     The INDEX directory contains two index files, which may be useful
to automatic database searches.  The two files are identical in       
structure; one of them (INDEX.TAB) pertains only to the files on this 
CD-ROM volume, while the other (CUMINDEX.TAB) is a cumulative index of
all GVDR volumes published to date.  Each file contains a PDS table in
ASCII format.  Each row of the table corresponds to a GVDR file that  
has a unique PRODUCT_ID.  The columns include the volume              
identification string, the data set identification string, the product
identification string, and the full pathname of the data file on its  
volume.                                                               
                                                                      
     Also included in the INDEX directory are this file               
(INDXINFO.TXT), PDS label files for the volume and volume set indices 
(INDEX.LBL and CUMINDEX.LBL, respectively), and a structure file      
(INDEX.FMT) which describes the detailed format of the index files.
