Huber New Mexico State University ============================================================================== INTRODUCTION ============================================================================== This compact disc contains archival accelerometer results from the Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) mission. This disc includes reduced data from Aerobraking Phases 1 and 2. Volume MGSA_0001 included raw data. The archive was prepared under standards of the Planetary Data System (PDS). This updated version includes additional keywords to facilitate data searches. ============================================================================== VOLUME SET INFORMATION ============================================================================== The diagram below shows the organization of this volume, starting from the root of the compact disc. root | |- AAREADME.TXT The file you are reading. | |- ERRATA.TXT A listing of known errors/problems on | this volume. Specifically, the disc is formatted according to the ISO 9660 level 1 Interchange Standard. For further information, refer to the ISO 9660 Standard Document: RF# ISO 9660-1988, 15 April 1988. The disc is organized according to the PDS standard for "one data set, one volume." This file (AAREADME.TXT), a PDS volume object definition (VOLDESC.CAT), and the listing of errors and changes (ERRATA.TXT) are included at the root level. The following directories of descriptive material are also at the root level: CATALOG contains descriptive files for cataloging the data on this disc. DOCUMENT contains a plain text Software Interface Specification (SISs) for the data set and other documentation. INDEX contains index information (table of contents) on each of the data files included in this disc. ============================================================================== FILE FORMAT ============================================================================== All data files on the disc are accompanied by attached PDS labels, which describe their contents. PDS TEXT objects have attached labels. Text files, including data files of ASCII text and all labels (*.LBL files) and tables (*.TAB files), are delimited with carriage-return (ASCII 13) line-feed (ASCII 10) pairs at the end of each line. Detached labels and text files (*.TXT file names) have fixed length records of 80 bytes to facilitate their use as either fixed-length record files or as stream files with carriage-return line-feed delimiters. ============================================================================== SOFTWARE ============================================================================== No software is included with this data set. ============================================================================== PEER REVIEW ============================================================================== This volume has completed a peer review by the PDS. The peer review panel consisted of Robert Tolson and Jill Hanna from the Accelerometer team, Lyle Huber, Jim Murphy and Joel Wilf representing PDS, Richard Springer from the Mars Surveyor Project, and Julio Magalhaes, Steve Bougher, Jeff Hollingsworth, Frank Lemoine, Daniel Lyons, Jeff Forbes and John Wilson as external reviewers. ============================================================================== CITATION INFORMATION ============================================================================== Users wishing to cite this volume in publications should adopt the following as the method of citation: Profile: G.M.
