                     TES Directory Contents

     TES data products are located on each of the three volumes in
this collection in the TES directory.  The TES directory houses MGS
TES-TSDR standard data products.  TES data files are located in
subdirectories based on target, mission phase, and original CD-ROM
volume.  Data directory names have the form tpppxxxx where t is for
target (M for Mars or P for Phobos), ppp is for mission phase (AB1,
SP1, SP2, or AB2), and xxxx are last four digits of the original
CD-ROM volume_id.  In addition to the data directories there is also a
directory named ANCIL, which contains several ancillary files.


ANCIL Directory Contents

CLASS.TXT

     A lookup table that provides the value for the
OBSERVATION_CLASSIFICATION keyword in the obs*.tab files.  The data on
this volume does not use this field.

DETMASK.TXT

     Information on spatial editing using detector masks.  The
DETECTOR_MASK keyword is used in the obs*.tab files.

ENBxxx.TXT

     The TES team experimenter's notebook for a given mission phase.
The xxx in the file name indicates the mission phases (AB1, SP1, SP2,
and AB2).

GEOMxxx.TXT

     List of SPICE files used to calculate geometry records for a
given mission phase.  The xxx in the file name indicates the mission
phases (AB1, SP1, SP2, and AB2).


SPECMASK.TAB

     Table of spectral masks.

SPECMASK.TXT

     Information on spectral editing masks.  The SPECTRAL_MASK keyword
is used in the rad*.tab files.

WAVNUMDS.LBL

     PDS label for WAVNUMDS.TAB.

WAVNUMDS.TAB

     Values of the center wavenumber for each of the six detectors
when TES is operated in double scan mode.

WAVNUMSS.LBL

     PDS label for WAVNUMSS.TAB.

WAVNUMSS.TAB

     Values of the center wavenumber for each of the six detectors
when TES is operated in single scan mode.


Data Directory Contents

     Each data subdirectory may contain some or all of the files
listed below.  The xxxxx in the file name indicates the original
CD-ROM volume_id (first three digits) and sequential product number
(final two digits).

BOLxxxxx.TAB - Raw and calibrated measurements for the visual and
               thermal bolometers.

CMPxxxxx.TAB - Real and complex FFT data element.

CMPxxxxx.VAR - Variable length record portion of the real and
               complex FFT data element.

GEOxxxxx.TAB - Sun, spacecraft, and planet geometric data
               element.

IFGxxxxx.TAB - Raw interferogram data element.

IFGxxxxx.VAR - Variable length record portion of the
               interferogram data array element.

LMBxxxxx.TAB - Derived parameters from planetary limb
               observations.

OBSxxxxx.TAB - Instrument parameter values associated with a
               given observation.

POSxxxxx.TAB - Position of spacecraft and Sun relative to the
               planet, spacecraft's orientation quaternion, and
               the Mars body quaternion.

RADxxxxx.TAB - Raw and calibrated radiance observations.

RADxxxxx.VAR - Variable length record portion of the raw and
               calibrated radiance element.

SRFxxxxx.TAB - Derived surface properties values.

SRFxxxxx.VAR - Variable length record portion of the surface
               properties element.

TLMxxxxx.TAB - Auxiliary observation parameters element.

DATASET.LST  - Table name list, necessary for TES Vanilla software 
               to work.

BOL.FMT - Field names contained in the BOL table.

CMP.FMT - Field names contained in the CMP table.

GEO.FMT - Field names contained in the GEO table.

IFG.FMT - Field names contained in the IFG table.

LMB.FMT - Field names contained in the LMB table.

OBS.FMT - Field names contained in the OBS table.

POS.FMT - Field names contained in the POS table.

RAD.FMT - Field names contained in the RAD table.

SRF.FMT - Field names contained in the SRF table.

TLM.FMT - Field names contained in the TLM table.

VAR.LBL - PDS label describing the variable length data (.VAR).
