Channelized engineering data volume for each day has been approximately 100 MB. Open Loop Data ============== Allan Deviation (hundreds of seconds) ------------------------------------- Len asked Joe Twicken to estimate the Allan Deviation at long integration times from the data acquired during USO test #1. The results are: t (sec) AD -------- ---------- 104.8576 2.3977e-13 419.4304 8.8322e-13 The samples were recorded for two hours, so there were only 17 frequency estimates at the 7 minute integration time. Joe did not attempt to remove the 85 mHz or so (peak-to-peak) frequency variation due to the spacecraft rotation. That will be automated when we begin to receive C-kernels. As a result, he thinks that the Allan Deviation has been over- estimated, particularly at the longer integration time. KaBLE Test ---------- Data Collection --------------- Joe has acquired and processed RETRANSMITTED ODS data from 96/341. The one-way USO transmission occurred while the KaBLE was on. The ODS was acquired at DSS 15 from 17:47:00 to 19:40:00. Data were recorded at 5 kHz with 4 interleaved A/D's each at 1250 Hz. Data Anomalies -------------- Joe's tot query returned only 33863 SFDU's. There should have been 33900 SFDU's if the data were actually recorded until 19:40:00. There were problems with the last three SFDU's. SFDU #33861 contained only SFDU and ODR headers. SFDU #33862 contained an SFDU header only. SFDU #33863 contained incorrect ODR header information. None of the final 3 SFDU's could be processed by PREPMO. I'm guessing this was a consequence of the retransmission, where logical EOF's are interspersed with valid data records There were no missing records in the first 33860 retransmitted SFDU's. This compares with 19 records missing in the near real-time (original) transmission. The ODS demonstrated again that the POCA time-tag/readback frequency problems have not been fixed; there were over 100 incorrect POCA records out of a total of 6772. Frequency Analyses ------------------ Joe used the spk_c_961111-970228 SP-kernel file to steer the data; this file was generated post-TCM1. Spacecraft engineering data confirmed that KaBLE was indeed ON and ENABLED during this time period. Joe estimated the USO frequency to be 8423152905.66 Hz. It now appears that the rate of change of USO frequency with time has been quite linear since 96/323 at approximately +195 mHz/day. The Allan deviation was not as good as that measured for USO Test #1 on 96/332. It may be because the SNR on 96/341 was approximately 42 dB/Hz, whereas it was about 48 dB/Hz during USO Test #1. It may also be due to the KaBLE. He did not compensate for the small Doppler component due to the 100-minute spacecraft rotation so the AD estimate at the longest integration time may be a little high. The estimates for 96/341 are: t (sec) AD ------ ---------- 1.6384 5.6614e-13 3.2768 4.9772e-13 6.5536 4.4356e-13 26.2144 3.0933e-13 104.8576 2.4158e-13 There did not appear to be any spurious frequency components due to KaBLE. There were spurs at +-650 Hz or so as noted in earlier health reports. Closed Loop Data ================
