This morning we were able to query successfully for ODS data, though that was a test only. We also were able to execute cdb_wotu successfully and presumably can now obtain file data. The ODS and file data successes resulted from Ben Jai's noting that our "interface files" were incorrect and his call to the SA's to make the repair. We have had SOPC problems with one local user, who seemed to bring our networking connections down whenever he logged in. Although we haven't located the precise cause of the problem, we have replaced his .cshrc file and added a .login file and operations are now at least closer to normal. There are a few applications programs that we have not checked yet -- such as the new makedisk software to cut CD-WO volumes. But, if the problems outlined above are indeed solved, I think the worst is over in the B1.0 upgrade at Stanford. We now have about a week's worth of data to catch up on.
