If we count the packets that were delivered in near-real time yesterday from the final simulated occultation, we're batting about 25% so far on delivery. Other channels are a bit confusing as to what they show about spacecraft activities during the ORT. For example, L-0046 (transponder telemetry modulation state) shows 3 brief OFF states during the ORT instead of the expected 6. L-0071 (TWT high voltage state) shows 2 OFF states instead of the expected 3. In all cases we have data throughout the third "occultation" suggesting that engineering data were recorded and played back from that black-out period but not the first two. In which case the spotty nature of the engineering data may simply reflect the fact that sometimes there is no record of a state change when the radio link was inoperative. Many of the temperatures measured on and near elements of the radio system were running near 30C before the ORT. Turning off the power amplifier caused them to drop dramatically during the ORT, each time to a lower level. Projecting this to Mapping, when there will be regular cycling (plus solar eclipses), suggests that most temperatures will run 10C cooler on average. Temperature of the KaBLE amplifier, for example, was almost 40C before the ORT; it was under 30C at the end of the third simulated occultation and it had recovered to only 36C at the end of the day (4+ hours after completion of the ORT).
