PDS_VERSION_ID = PDS3 RECORD_TYPE = STREAM OBJECT = TEXT PUBLICATION_DATE = 2001-03-02 NOTE = "MGS RST Instrument Health Report HEA1061A.TXT" END_OBJECT = TEXT END Errata ====== Data from occultation 8853i (DSS 15, start time 2001/060-11:00:00) were described in yesterday's report (HEA1060A.TXT) as having ended prior to ingress. Aseel Anabtawi confirmed that the full 7 minutes of data were collected. Working with Data Control, we were able to locate the missing records. The report on the full occultation is included under Open Loop Data - Data Collection below. All data from 2001/058 and 2001/059 previously listed as "not found" have now been located and transferred to Stanford. This required considerable work with Data Control, where Ray Williams provided the majority of assistance. Miscellaneous ============= We have now caught up on backlog in all data types that resulted from the failed software upgrade on 2001-02-16. This anomaly has been noted in several recent health reports; this is the final file to be recovered. Data from occultation 8864i (DSS 63, start time 2001/061-08:35:00) have poor and unstable signal levels. The best SNR is about 48 dB, whereas 58 dB would normally be expected. And there is a 3 dB increase in carrier level only 15 s before ingress. There is no attenuator change and no spacecraft activity in the SOE to account for this +3 dB change. The occultation time on 8864i (DSS 63, start time 2001/061-08:35:00) was 08:39:51, compared with a predicted time of 08:39:58. This is not enough to cause the timing problems such as those seen on days 037 and 038, suggesting that the predicted orbits these days are of good quality. The following occultation opportunities were captured at two stations. In the first case, the setting station data were noted in an earlier report. Asterisks indicate that the occultation itself was missed.
