Miscellaneous ============= Sami Asmar forwards the following from the MGS Office at JPL: The spacecraft completed nominal extended mission operations during this week. Twice weekly sequences were uploaded and successfully executed by the spacecraft. Analysis of the four latest ROTO images (off-nadir targeting with S-reaction wheel) suggests a 4 km east-west offset exists in the target map which is the most current Viking derived MDIM. A software patch was loaded on the spacecraft to prevent High Gain Antenna motion should the vehicle enter safe mode, and subsequently, navigation timing margins were reduced to one minute. Two Guest Observation proposals were selected by NASA for future MOC and TES measurements. These requests will now be forwarded to the instrument Principal Investigators. We have revised our software which labels and renames troposphere media calibration files. Three new files are listed below under Closed Loop Data - Data Collection. His (slightly edited) report: I used a NAV predict file to process all of the open-loop recordings at SPC 10 from 2001/057-064. That period includes the most recently acquired data at SPC 10. As far as I can tell, none of the recordings has the sawtooth problem. The last sawtooth that I have observed was the occultation 8805i recording at DSS 15 on 2001/056. I plan to reprocess the 2001/057-064 SPC 10 recordings along with the other recordings from those dates after we obtain the NAV reconstruction later this week. Occultations 8906i and 8907i (DSS 45, start times 2001/064-19:00:00 and 20:57:00) have 0.5 dB dips in carrier amplitude. In the first case, the dip is just after AOS; in the second, it is only about 40s before ingress. Each dip lasts about 25s.
