ASP (Antenna SPK) files give the fixed offsets -- HGA boom lengths, and distances to low-gain antenna centers. HCK (Hinge CK) files give fixed angles for the deployed HGA boom. TFK (Text Frame Kernel) files define relationships among coordinate frames. Unless deployment of the HGA changes (or more accurate information on booms, hinge angles, LGA placement is obtained), the ASP, HCK, and TFK files listed above should be valid for the remainder of the MGS mission. AGK files will be generated daily by NAIF and will cover midnight to midnight. ASP, AGK, and HCK files will be stored on our magellan server in directories /users/z00/{ASP,AGK,HCK}, respectively. Files will be stored and archived in NAIF "transfer" format. The files are generated by NAIF in IEEE binary and are converted at Stanford. The NAIF utilities SPACIT or TOBIN can be used to convert from transfer format to the local binary on user machines. Users who prefer to avoid conversions and who can use the IEEE binary format directly may obtain the files via anonymous ftp from naif.jpl.nasa.gov in the pub/naif/MGS/kernels/ck directory. The TFK file is an ASCII file; it will be stored in /users/z00/TFK on magellan. All files are accompanied by minimal detached PDS labels which (briefly) describe their contents. Documentation on use of the files is in preparation. Users may find the ASCII "comment" fields in the transfer format files to contain a fair amount of information already. The TFK file is also very readable.
