We have also been able to retrieve the entire recording for the occultation beginning at 2000/018T23:21:00. In the health report yesterday, it was reported that the data set as of that time ended abruptly just after egress. Data for recordings beginning at 2000/019T18:58:00 and 2000/020T08:04:00 are missing. The second recording was lost due to a SPAR initialization error. The reason for the loss of the first recording is still unknown. There is an amplitude dropout of approximately 3 dB just after egress in the 2000/019T0316 recording. The carrier level wanders by approximately 2 dB in the recording beginning at 2000/019T10:30:00 at DSS 45. The same occultation was also captured at DSS 54 (2000/019T10:31:00), and that recording has a very consistent baseline. Dick is not here today, but if he were he would surely say that surface echoes are visible in some of the recordings.
