The SNR for the recording of occultation 4033e (2000/032T12:52:00) was 14 dB below normal. Such a level is comparable to what would be expected if telemetry was on during the occultation. Trish Priest reports that the SOE indicates that telemetry should have been off. She reports that the closed-loop receivers also observed a signal level just above what would be expected with telemetry on. It is therefore believed that the problem does not lie with Radio Science equipment. Four occultations (4038i-4040e) were recorded at both DSS 25 and 45. The data quality in the DSS 25 recordings is nearly perfect. The recordings at DSS 45 show more significant fluctuations in signal level.
