After many false starts, the DSP was declared 'red' (DR #L04774). The signal at ingress in occultation #7134 (DSS 25, start time 2000/285- 23:08:00) drops approximately exponentially, rather than sharply, to the noise baseline. The decay is most visible in the last 2 dB, which extends over about 40 s. The following table was constructed from information provided by Stu Spath and Dave Eckart at LMA, with help from Stuart Demcak and Boris Semenov of JPL. The top part gives estimated spacecraft mass, mass rate change, and remaining fuel mass for specific dates (a representative date is taken for MPD files, which can span days to months). Mass rate change is an average over recent days, subdivided for Beta Supplement (BS) and Nominal Mapping (NM) in one case. The second part of the table gives Stu Spath's estimates of remaining fuel mass after five Extended Mission scenarios, as follows: 1: Mapping to 2001-02-01; quarantine burn 2001-02-01; relay to 2003-02-01 2: Mapping to 2002-02-23; quarantine burn 2002-02-23; relay to 2004-02-23 3: Mapping to 2002-03-23; quarantine burn 2002-03-23; relay to 2003-02-01 4: Mapping to 2002-04-22; quarantine burn 2002-04-22; no relay 5: Mapping to 2002-11-09; no quarantine burn; no relay |=====================================================================| | Date | Mass | Rate | Fuel| Source | | | (kg) |(g/day)| (kg)| | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |1999-02-05|751.1 | | |mpdf.phase2_abx_prelim (9033038A.MPD)| |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |1999-03-05|735.9 | | | mpdf_TMO (9046079A.MPD)| |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |1999-05-30|727.14| | | mpdf.OTM_2 (9131365C.MPD)| |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |1999-08-31|724.98| | | mpdf.OTM_3 (9213274A.MPD)| |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |2000-03-27|717.25|-26.78 | N/A | Eckart | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |2000-06-12|715.3 |-27(BS)|35.5 | Spath | | | |-33(NM)| | | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |2000-07-11|714.56|-25.0 |34.75| Eckart | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |2000-08-26|713.33|-25.7 |33.52| Eckart | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |2000-08-30|713.27| N/A | N/A | otm4b.mpdf (0228259A.MPD)| |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |2000-09-21| N/A |-26.25 |32.8 | Eckart | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |Scenario 1| | |19.6 | Spath | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |Scenario 2| | | 7.7 | Spath | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |Scenario 3| | | 7.4 | Spath | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |Scenario 4| | | 7.8 | Spath | |----------+------+-------+-----+-------------------------------------| |Scenario 5| | | 8.6 | Spath | |=====================================================================| The best information on center-of-mass appears to be in the Maneuver Performance Data Files, the most recent being otm4b.mpdf (stored on MGS RS server magellan.stanford.edu in /users/z00/MPD/0228259A.MPD).
