We continue to be unable to use our CD writer. Vincent Hung advises that TES is having similar problems. We have begun backing data to tape since we no longer have disk space to hold CDs that can't be written. We have also noted a problem in submitting queries for ODS data. In about one case in five, the query never begins. In most cases we can kill the stalled processes, then resubmit and the new version works fine. This problem did not occur prior to the E1.0 upgrade. We have advised Vincent Hung and he is investigating. The primary impact is in submitting multiple queries; we simply don't have staffing to submit each query individually and follow it to completion. But that is almost required under present circumstances. Aseel Anabtawi requested that the data be retransmitted from the station. The new files have no missing records and have been substituted for the old in our collection. Occultation 7381i (DSS 45, start time 2000/306-03:33:00) had +/-1 dB carrier variations and a 2 dB linear decrease in noise level after ingress. This was the fifth of five occultations captured at DSS 45; low elevation angle may have contributed, but the exact cause for these anomalies is not known.
