We obtained a short segment of engineering and monitor data by initiating a query this morning. Open Loop Data ============== Data Collection --------------- We obtained almost two hours of open-loop data from the NERT Cache before our query failed. We had requested two hours; the query failed less than 3 minutes before completion. Spacecraft was on low-gain antenna. Specifics for the successful part of the query: YYYY/DDD DSS QUERY SAMP BW DSP BIT TRK REC RECS RECS MAX START STOP RATE MODE RESN MODE LEN MSSG SNR -------- --- -------- -------- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----- ---- ----- 1997/270 43 09:00:00 10:57:39 5000 2500 2 12 1-W 1666 35288 8 24. Anomalies --------- This query aborted, but within 3 minutes of completing transfer of the full 2 hrs of data. The line was tested AFTER this transfer. Analyses -------- Joe Twicken has completed analysis of three segments of open-loop data acquired on 97/270. The last of these was noted above. Joe's report follows: I have processed the three DOY 270 ODR's. I used the 7269280B.SPK file (spk_i_970926_OD010_015_V2) to generate the steering coefficients. That was the latest SPK file which covered DOY 270. All three data sets showed the same characteristics: carrier amplitude oscillation of 2 dB peak-peak and carrier frequency oscillation of 200 mHz peak-peak. The period of the oscillations was 15 minutes, and the amplitude and frequency oscillations were in phase (max power and max frequency at same time). SNR for all three ODR's was approximately 22 dB/Hz. Estimated USO frequency for the 2 hour record beginning at 09:00 was 8423152969.7 Hz. Allan deviations at short (1.6 seconds) and long (26.2 seconds) were all approximately 1e-12. That doesn't mean much: SNR was poor at short integration times and oscillations were significant at long integration times.
