The carrier frequency at the beginning of the one-way period was offset about 100 Hz from its expected position. It drifted another 150 Hz before the occultation. But the signal was never more than 250 Hz from the center of the passband, and no problems are expected with analysis. The DSP was 'red' at SPC 60 until just before the occultation on 98/060. When it came up, it was quickly set to run. Unfortunately, Filter 1 was selected rather than Filter 2. So a noise window at 500-600 Hz is visible in spectra, but the carrier (at 1250 Hz) is almost completely suppressed. DR L01854 was submitted on the DSP. DSS 65 data from 98/059 show the same asynchronous POCA behavior that has been observed on occasional other runs. The 'steered' carrier appears to have a sawtooth frequency function. Analysis -------- Joe Twicken, trying to find the source of some odd frequency residuals in recent occultation data, began looking at CK files in hopes there might have been some unexpected spacecraft attitude changes. He discovered, after looking at four different occultation periods, that the CK files have no data during the occultation periods. We are looking into this, since reconstructing attitude will be critical once the HGA boom is extended.
