The hope is that the lower rate minimize errors which might be occurring during the near-real time transmission. Data from the ingress occultation beginning at 1998/102-14:50:00 (Occ #131i, DSS 65) were lost as a result of tape errors and an incorrectly set GCF parameter. Although two occultations have been captured at SPC 60 with no POCA time tag errors since the "tape" mode was started, there have been two others on which time tag errors continue to be seen. All SPC 60 data continue to have carrier-to-noise levels 5-6 dB below what we see at other complexes.
