According to Trish Priest "The DSP at DSS 15 went red ... The station rebooted the DSP three times in order to try to get it up and running before the occultation, but it didn't happen. Sal says that the LARK disk attached to the SPA-R may be having problems and should be replaced. The DSP should be functional before the next occultation at SPC 10 which occurs Friday. I am awaiting a DR number." Occultation #139 data were obtained (see table above) with updated SPA-R software in the DSP at DSS 65. The severe amplitude and frequency problems evident in yesterday's data were not repeated. There were no POCA time tag errors in the egress data, but there were 2 errors in the ingress data. Carrier to noise levels are about 6 dB below expected. Analysis -------- Dave Hinson processed ingress data from occultation #112. Thirteen DSP records were lost, and we had originally estimated they were about 30 secs before the occultation. A more exact calculation shows them to be 3-5 secs before the ray path intersects the surface, making these data unusable for detailed science analysis.
