Also, the timing of events was different from normal. Trish Priest was unable to see the signal in real time and entered frequency offsets in an attempt to locate it. These data will likely be unusable. SNR for data acquired at DSS 54 continues to be 2-3 dB lower than SNR from other complexes. Analysis -------- Jesus Calvo has reported calculations of SNR at SPC 60 during regular tracking and during occultations. His numbers are consistent with nominal SNR during regular tracking. But he also finds the degraded values from DSS 65 during occultation periods. He plans to make more measurements on 98/339, the next opportunity for an occultation at DSS 65. Joe Twicken has examined some serendiptously acquired one-way data; his report: The open-loop recording for occultation #211i included approximately 30 minutes of one-way data prior to the occultation. Based on this recording on 1998/333 at DSS45 (TLM on, SNR ~39 dB/Hz, 5000 samples per second, 12 bits per sample): USO Frequency = 8423153016.76 Hz According to our latest USO model based on open-loop data recorded between 1998/307 and 1998/333, the drift in USO frequency is approximately 74 millihertz per day.
