Retransmit Status:
It is HIGHLY desireable for us to have the LMRE ON as early as possible to limit the amount of data incorrectly time tagged. I have submitted this request to Bill Dias who has informed me that starting on Sol 40 the LMRE will be commanded ON between 7:30 and 7:40 LST
Operational Constraints (Sol 38 Sequence):
SEQUENCE EXECUTION STATUS:
VEHICLE STATE:
(AS OF COMMAND: 37124, Set Parameter
SCET: 8/11/97 04:01:56
)
BATTERY STATE/USAGE**
SUBSYSTEM STATUS:
*All data downlinked on this Sol INCLUDING retransmitted data.
NAVIGATION PERFORMANCE:
The vehicle is positioned for placing the APXS on Wedge. Take
APXS mesurement on Wedge.
The rover completed all the navigation movements and deployed APXS on
Wedge (?) with the upper right and bottom APXS contacts triggered.
The Y accel showed multiple anomalous readings during the movements. The Y
accel data jumped from one extreme reading to the other many times. Even
though the navigation commands had never failed, because the Y accel never
output three consecutive bad readings. Currently the Y accel is getting stuck
at the low reading (-0.445g) and remained outputing the same value over time.
The Z accel continued to show erroneous readings.
CONSTRAINTS:
THERMAL PERFORMANCE:
TELECOM PERFORMANCE
MOBILITY PERFORMANCE:
POWER PERFORMANCE:
TBD

Sequence 53710B:
Uplink team should review EOD images to make final determination of whether APXS is sufficiently on WEGDE or not)
RETRANSMIT REQUESTS
SEQUENCE PLANNING RECOMMENDATIONS
Modify nominal sequence plan.
Consider retracting APXS, backing up closer to WEDGE, redeploying the APXS, and taking a second set of APXS measurements of the upper portion of WEDGE which has less soil on it ... I know its boring but what the heck!
