MISSION SEQUENCE PLANNER REPORT
Notes to Rover Team:
- Note the NEW numbering convention on sequences SOL 50 and beyond! Commands start with (2)002
- Sequence given to flight engineer Jennifer Harris
- Drives performed sans gyro.
- Conditional APXS night operations only if we make contact with Shark
- No WAE in this sequence. Request rejected before we turned to Shark
- Two modified MAE performed on SOL 52. A set of three at 12:00 and again at 14:00
- Conditional APXS scheduled from 14:00 - 19:00 and again from 00:00 - 03:00
- Battery usage for modem heating always disabled
- Modem heating always disabled (relying on auto modem reheat)
- Sequence has runout until morning of Sol 59 - no uplink on SOLs 55, 56, and 58
- Sequence nominally aborted on Sol 53.
- S50 should get all the (Very short) moves; S55 will show our sucessfull capture of Shark

PRESS RELEASE
Description of Planned Rover Operations for Sol 52:
The rover will turn right 7 degrees, partially deploy the APXS and backup towards the rock
called Shark. If there is no contact after 20cm, the rover will start groping for the rock
by retracting the APXS, backing up another 30cm, and deploying the APXS again. The rover will
attempt this maneuver three times. If contact is made, the rover will perform APXS
measurements for eight hours. If no contact is made, the rover will not perform APXS
night operations.
