Apollo 17 Lunar Module Traverse Gravimeter Data Bundle

Overview
========
This PDS4 bundle (urn:nasa:pds:a17tg_traverse_gravity) contains Apollo 17 Traverse Gravimeter
data migrated from the PDS3 volume A17L-L-TG-2-TRAVERSE-GRAVITY-V1.0. 
This data set contains a table of readings from the Traverse Gravimeter   
Experiment performed during the Apollo 17 mission.  The gravimeter,       
which recorded relative measurements of the local gravitational field     
at the lunar surface, was manually run by the astronauts near the         
Lunar Module landing site.  The data table includes 23 valid gravity      
values, with calibrations and corrections, that were obtained from 12     
to 14 December 1972; the results are discussed below.  Supporting         
documentation includes the Apollo 17 Traverse Gravimeter Experiment       
Final Report by Buck, et al., (1973).

This bundle contains the following collections:

  data: Apollo 17 Traverse Gravimeter data products 
  (acquired from 1972-12-12 to 1972-12-14)

  document: description of the Apollo 17 Traverse Gravimeter data products, 
  landing site maps, the Apollo 17 Traverse Gravimeter Final Report, 
  descriptions of the Apollo 17 mission, descriptions of 
  Apollo 17 ALSEP, descriptions of the Apollo 17 Traverse Gravimeter, and 
  Chapter 13, Traverse Gravimeter Experiment, of the Apollo 17 Preliminary 
  Science Report.

Data Products and PDS Labels
============================

Every Apollo 17 Lunar Module Traverse Gravimeter Experiment 
data product is accompanied by a PDS label in a file with the 
same name as the data file, but with the extension ".xml", as PDS labels 
are written in XML (Extended Markup Language). The labels may be viewed in 
a text editor or web browser, preferably one that applies special formatting 
to XML files to make them more readable. The labels may also be read by 
software that can interpret XML. 

Apollo 17 Lunar Module Traverse Gravimeter Experiment data 
are in ASCII tables. All these data files may be read using the PDS4 Viewer tool.

Preliminary Science Report in the document collection describes the instrument,
instrument deployment, and observations of the Apollo 17 Traverse Gravimeter
Experiment. This dataset is described in more detail in
