Phoenix MECA Non-imaging Calibrated and Derived Data Bundle This bundle contains Phoenix Microscopy, Electrochemistry and Conductivity Analyzer (MECA) non-imaging calibrated and derived data migrated from the PDS3 volume. The MECA instrument suite includes four instruments: 1. Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) 2. Optical Microscope (OM) 3. Thermal and Electrical Conductivity Probe (TECP) 4. Wet Chemistry Laboratory (WCL) The AFM, TECP, and WCL are known collectively as the MECA Non-Imaging Instruments. This bundle contains the calibrated and derived data products from these instruments. The data from the OM are in a separate archive (PDS3 data set ID PHX-M-OM-3-RADIOMETRIC-SCI-V1.0). This bundle contains the following collections: calibration - MECA Microscopy, WCL, and TECP calibration reports. document_catalog - Original PDS3 catalog files, containing information about the Phoenix mission, spacecraft, its instruments, and useful references. meca_rdr_ds.cat contains details about this dataset. document - Original data product and PDS3 archive volume Software Interface Specification (SIS) documents. While these documents contain useful information about the data products, please note they contain references to the original PDS3 volume and its organization. These documents have not been revised to describe the PDS4 bundle structure. miscellaneous_index - Original PDS3 index of data files. data_afm - Phoenix MECA Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) Scan Data Records (SDR) and Scan Derivative records (SDD), along with daily measurement reports. data_wcl - Phoenix MECA Wet Chemistry Laboratory (WCL) Ion-Selective Electrode (ISE), electrical conductivity (COND), Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Chronopotentiometry (CP), and pressure and temperature (PT) data. data_tecp - Phoenix MECA Thermal and Electrical Conductivity Probe (TECP) electrical conductivity (EC), frost point (HUM), relative permittivity (PRM), and thermal conductivity (TC) data. data_tecp_rhs - Phoenix MECA Thermal and Electrical Conductivity Probe (TECP) Recalibrated Relative Humidity (RHS) data. The TECP RHS collection contains results from the recalibration of the TECP relative humidity sensor performed in a Martian environmental chamber at the University of Michigan. The recalibration was conducted using a TECP engineering model simulating the full range of environmental conditions observed at the Phoenix landing site, while ensuring the comparability of the engineering model's output with that of the flight model. This recalibration expands the covered environmental conditions, with focus on the warmest and driest conditions (daytime) because they were not covered in the original calibration and previous recalibration. The dataset contains the sol number and local true solar time of all in-situ measurements, the measured temperature at the TECP board, the measured recalibrated frost point and water vapor pressure, the estimated error in water vapor pressure, and the derived values of volumetric mixing ratio and relative humidity. Each document and data product in this bundle is described by a PDS4 label in a separate file with the same name but with the extension XML. PDS4 labels are XML (eXtensible Markup Language) files that conform to the PDS4 Information Model XML schema at https://pds.nasa.gov/pds4/schema/released/. They are best viewed in an XML-aware text editor, and may be used by software that can manipulate XML documents. Note that the PDS4 labels and other PDS4 products are merged with the PDS3 volume such that all the PDS3 files and directories are preserved. Thus, users who want access to the PDS3 labels can continue to use them. All data products have been given PDS4 labels with exceptions noted below. - Some PDS3 files remain but are not considered part of the PDS4 bundle, e.g. aareadme.txt in the root directory. This file and the others were not given PDS4 labels since they pertain mainly to the archive as the original PDS3 volume. - Files in the data_tecp_rhs are archived in PDS4 only, i.e. they weren't part of the original PDS3 volume.
