Artemis II Orion Camera Artemis II Mission Planetary Data System (PDS) Archive Bundle Overview ======== This bundle contains the following collections: data_raw_image: Raw science image data products data_video: Raw science data video products browse_source: Browse images for Raw data products Data Products and PDS Labels ============================ Every Orion Camera data product is accompanied by a PDS label in a file with the same name as the data file, but with the extension ".xml", as PDS labels are written in XML (Extended Markup Language). The labels may be viewed in a text editor or web browser, preferably one that applies special formatting to XML files to make them more readable. The labels may also be read by software that can interpret XML. Directory Data product Product type File name extension --------- ------------ ----------------- ------------------- data_raw_image raw science image data raw .tif data_video raw science video data raw .mp4 browse_source browse image data src .jpg and .png (original source data) Raw image files (.tif) are Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) image files converted from source images that may be viewed in commonly available image display programs. Raw video files (.mp4) are Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG)-4 video files that may be viewed in commonly available video playback programs. Browse image files are also the original source images (.jpg and .png) and are Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) images and Portable Network Graphic (PNG) images that may be viewed in most web browsers and commonly available image display programs. While treated as browse for PDS due to their compression, these are also the source images for the Solar Array Wing (SAW) Cameras, Cabin 2 (CAB2) camera, and Docking Camera (DCAM). The OpNav Camera source image is the TIFF raw product. Documentation ============= The Artemis II Data User Guide, found in the Mission bundle with the document collection, describes the contents, format, and structure of the entire Artemis II science data archive, including this bundle. It describes the processing level terminology and methods used to generate the data products. Users are advised to read this document first before using the data products. ============== This bundle was archived by the Cartography and Imaging Sciences Node of the Planetary Data System.
