Ulysses Jupiter Encounter Hiscale Bundle Readme HISCALE - Heliospheric Insta-Spectra,Composition, Anisotrophy at Low Energies 1992-01-25 to 1992-02-17 Planetary Plasma Interactions Discipline Node of the Planetary Data System Introduction ============ This document contains information pertaining to the data submitted to the Planetary Data System (PDS) by the Ulysses HISCALE investigators, for the Ulysses Jupiter Encounter Heliospheric Insta-Spectra,Composition, Anisotrophy at Low Energy Bundle. This bundle is organized several collections, including: data-aperature-counts, data-deflected-counts, data-lefs-counts, data-lems-counts,data-w-counts, and document. There is an XML label for every product in the archive. Ulysses HISCALE Composition Aperature Ion Counts Data Collection ================================================================ This data contains Ulysses Jupiter Encounter HISCALE Composition Aperture (WARTD) ion counts. These measurements include 1 hour averaged inbound cruise data and 15 minute averaged encounter data. Ulysses HISCALE Deflected Electron Counts Data Collection ========================================================= This data contains Ulysses Jupiter Encounter HISCALE Deflected Electron (DE) measurements taken during the Ulysses Jupiter encounter 1991-12-31 to 1992-02-16. These data include 1 hour averaged inbound cruise data and 15 minute averaged encounter data. Ulysses HISCALE LEFS Electron and Ion Counts at 60 and 150 Degrees Data Collection ================================================================================== This data contains Ulysses Jupiter Encounter HISCALE Low-Energy Foil Spectrometer (LEFS) electron and ion counts at 60 and 150 degrees from the spacecraft spin axis. These measurements were taken during the Ulysses Jupiter encounter with 1 hour averaged inbound cruise and 15 minute averaged encounter data. Ulysses HISCALE LEMS Ion Counts at 30 and 120 Degrees Data Collection ===================================================================== This data contains Ulysses Jupiter Encounter HISCALE Low-Energy Magnetic Spectrometer (LEMS) ion counts at 30 and 120 degrees from the spacecraft spin axis. These measurements were taken during the Ulysses Jupiter encounter with 1 hour averaged inbound cruise data and 15 minute averaged encounter data. Ulysses HISCALE W Ion Counts Data Collection ============================================ This data contains Ulysses Jupiter Encounter HISCALE W ion counts from the Ulysses Jupiter Encounter. These data include 1 hour averaged inbound cruise and 15 minute averaged encounter data. This is a PDS4 archive of the following PDS3 data sets: ULY-J-HISCALE-4-SUMM-DE-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519852), ULY-J-HISCALE-4-SUMM-LEFS60-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519853), ULY-J-HISCALE-4-SUMM-LEFS150-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519854), ULY-J-HISCALE-4-SUMM-LEMS30-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519855), ULY-J-HISCALE-4-SUMM-LEMS120-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519856), ULY-J-HISCALE-4-SUMM-WARTD-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519857), ULY-J-HISCALE-4-SUMM-W-V1.0 (https://doi.org/10.17189/1519858). These data sets were originally a partial of the remake of the PDS volume ULY_5001 that was produced for the ESA Special Publication 1230. Under the PDS3 standard all archives were self contained and could in principle be stored in a single file system (disk, CD-ROM, etc.). PDS4 takes advantage of the network capabilities that allow archives to be distributed. As a result, some of the documents and metadata previously stored in the PDS3 catalog files are no longer maintained locally, but are maintained in a central repository. Those files are referenced by unique PDS logical identifiers that are included in the document collection inventory. Errata ====== There were no known deficiencies or errors reported in the errata.txt files under PDS3. During the migration from PDS3 to PDS4 no issues were found and corrected in the PDS4 metadata. The data remain unchanged. Contacts ======== This bundle was produced for the Planetary Data System (PDS) at the Planetary Plasma Interactions (PPI) node.
