Original instrument description and initial observations paper. OMAG Russell, C.T., R.C.Snare, R.E. Elphic, and J.D. Means, 'Pioneer Venus Orbiter Fluxgate Magnetometer', IEEE Transactions Geo. Elec., vol. GE-18, no.1, p. 32, 1980. Original instrument description and initial observations paper. MISSION Mission and Spacecraft information for both the Orbiter and probes derived from the Mission and Insthost catalog files. The hypertext version includes many GIF images of useful tables and figures published in Fimmel et al, 1995 (Nasa SP-518, Pioneering Venus: A Planet Unvailed), COORDSYS The PDS no longer catalogs coordinate system information. This file COORDSYS.TXT, was extracted from the old PDS coordinate system catalog. The DOCUMENT directory contains 3 sub-directories, each of which contains a single document. All of the documents are fully reproduced. For each document, there is an ASCII text version of the original text and there are scanned images which can be viewed to see the graphics from the original documents. Scanned image files are stored in Graphic Interchange Format files (GIF) in the GIF89a format. This format can be loaded into numerous word processors and drawing packages. Each file contains a single figure of the original document. The file naming convention is FIGxx.GIF and/or TABxx.GIF where xx is the figure/table number. There is also an HTML document available which preserves the original format of the document as much as possible.
