Release 16 of MESSENGER MASCS DDR data includes revisions to all previously
released DDR products on volume MESSMAS_2001 to correct an error in the
photometric normalization section of the calibration pipeline: a missing
division-by-2. All previously released photometrically corrected MASCS VIRS
DDR data were a factor of 2 too high in value. This release corrects that
error.
Note that Release 16 also includes a new MASCS volume, MESSMAS_2101, which
contains version 2.0 of the DDR data set. In version 2.0, the division-by-2
error has been corrected AND a new photometric normalization has been
applied. Both versions of the DDR data set will remain available in PDS. |
