NAME Apollo 15 ALSEP ARCSAV Heat Flow Experiment Concatenated Data Sets: Source Materials Collection
TYPE Document
DESCRIPTION This collection contains source data and reduction code for the reduced, corrected, and concatenated sets in this bundle's data collection. Most of these source data are available elsewhere on the PDS; the remainder are available in published scientific literature. They are copied in this bundle in order to (1) provide a 'snapshot' of the source material for our reduction process, should those archives change; and (2) to facilitate bug hunting, verification, and functionality-adding software forks. This is a document collection because it does not contain the primary science data of the bundle and includes data that is not in a PDS4 observational product format.

PRIMARY RESULT DESCRIPTION Temperature values from four probes intended to measure thermal properties of the lunar regolith, two from Apollo 15 and two from Apollo 17. Each probe contained 12 total thermometers, four differential bridges on the main probe body and four thermocouples on the cable that connected it to the ALSEP central station.
