| DESCRIPTION |
This collection contains two data products that provide the cumulative delta-V effect on the spacecraft due to thruster firing, mass loss due to the expenditure of propellant, and cumulative on-times for each individual thruster during the Dawn encounter with 1 Ceres. The files have been migrated to PDS4 from the original delivery under PDS3 standards.
Small Forces Files are generated by the DAWN project; they give information on the cumulative delta-V on the spacecraft due to thruster firings, mass loss due to the expenditure of propellant, and cumulative on-times for each individual thruster during thruster events. Small Forces Files may have overlapping or conflicting data between multiple files. For cases when this occurs, the file with a later creation date should be used. Ion engine thrusting information is not recorded in the SFFs. File names have the form yyyy_ddd_yyyy_ddd.csv, where the first 'yyyy_ddd' indicates the starting date and second 'yyyy_ddd' indicates the end date of the file coverage. The accompanying PDS4 label describes the content and structure of the file.
