| NAME |
The Alice Spectrometer for the Rosetta Orbiter
|
| TYPE |
Spectrometer
|
| DESCRIPTION |
The ALICE instrument was a Roland Circle style imaging spectrograph designed to perform far-UV spectroscopy in the range 700-2050 angstroms with a spectral resolution of 8 - 12 angstroms. Light passed through a concave, toroidal, holographic reflection grating used in first order. The detector was a microchannel plate with 1024 pixels in the wavelength dimension.
