NAME Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 for HST
TYPE Imager
DESCRIPTION The Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) aboard the Hubble Space Telescope was a camera that covered UV, visible, and infrared wavelengths from 120 to 1000 nm. WFPC2?s field of view was 2.7 arcminutes square. It was installed in 1993, replacing the Wide Field and Planetary Camera (WF/PC). It was replaced by the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) in 2009.
