DESCRIPTION |
The Entry, Descent, and Landing Camera Suite (EDL) contains a
complement of camera systems to acquire visual data for the EDL
phase of the Mars 2020 mission. It is comprised of seven (7)
commercially-available IR cameras pointed at various components of
the vehicle during EDL. These components are:
(1) PUC: Parachute Uplook Camera (3 cameras)
(2) DDC: Descent Stage Downlook Camera (TBD)
(3) RUC: Rover Uplook Camera (TBD)
(4) RDC: Rover Downlook Camera (TBD)
The EDL Camera Suite also contains an omnidirectional microphone
capsule for capturing sound during EDL.
