| DESCRIPTION |
The Phoenix Lander Microscopy, Electrochemistry, and Conductivity Analyzer (MECA) Common Electronics was a key part of the Microscopy, Electrochemistry, and Conductivity Analyzer (MECA) suite aboard the Phoenix Lander. These electronics managed the power distribution, control systems, and data communication between the MECA instruments and the lander's main systems. The MECA suite included several scientific instruments, such as the Atomic Force Microscope, Wet Chemistry Laboratory, and Thermal and Electrical Conductivity Probe. The common electronics allowed for the coordination of these instruments' operations, ensuring they worked together to analyze Martian soil and ice, while also enabling the transmission of data back to Earth. This system was vital for the efficient operation of the MECA suite and for gathering key scientific information about the Martian environment.
