| DESCRIPTION |
The Phoenix Lander Microscopy, Electrochemistry, and Conductivity Analyzer (MECA) Optical Microscope (OM) was part of the Microscopy, Electrochemistry and Conductivity Analyzer (MECA) instrument suite. The OM was a fixed-focus imaging system utilizing a 512 x 256 pixel active imaging area frame transfer CCD detector. It was designed to acquire images of particulate Martian material (soil, dust) at a spatial resolution of 4 microns/pixel.
