NAME The OSIRIS-REx Propulsion Subsystem (PROP)
TYPE Spacecraft Sensor
DESCRIPTION The OSIRIS-REx propulsion system comprises 28 thrusters in total, from main thrusters down to two thrusters for precise maneuvers, including the touch-and-go sample acquisition at asteroid (101955) Bennu. Thruster activity is recorded and reported for use in calculating small forces on the spacecraft, which are needed for some data reduction and analysis.
