NAME The VSK-Fregat Imaging System for Phobos 2

DESCRIPTION The VSK-Fregat imaging system combined a three-channel television camera with tow short focal length channels and one longer focal length channel. The CCD camera included an electronic shutter to control exposures. The system was designed for 1) Surveying Mars; 2) Navigation, including updating the shape, rotation periods, and orbits of the moons Phobos and Deimos; and 3) Phobos investigations, including mapping and surface structure studies.
