| TYPE |
Spacecraft
| DESCRIPTION |
The NEA Scout spacecraft was a 60unit CubeSat (about 10cm x 20cm x 30cm, stowed) equipped with a controllable solar sail and designed as a technology demonstration of the capabilities of very small satellites for exploring very small (1-100m) near-Earth asteroids. It was one of 10 CubeSats launched by the Artemis 1 mission. Its target at time of launch was the near-Earth asteroid 2020GE, but after deployment from Artemis 1, contact with the CubeSat was never established, and (as of December 2022) it is considered lost.
