| DESCRIPTION |
The Venera 8 spacecraft comprised a carrier bus holding a descentcraft/lander to study Venus. The carrier bus was designed to be acommunications relay for the lander and to explore interplanetary spaceduring cruise and Venus approach. Instrumentation included energeticparticle detectors, solar wind detector, and UV spectrometer.
