NAME MDM Observatory 2.4-m Hiltner Ritchey-Chretien Equatorial Reflector
DESCRIPTION The Hiltner 2.4-meter Telescope is an optical telescope located at the MDM Observatory on Kitt Peak, Arizona. Operational since 1986, it is a Ritchey-Chrétien reflector with a primary mirror made of aluminum-coated Cer-Vit. The telescope is equipped with multiple focal points, including f/7.5 and f/13.5 Cassegrain configurations, allowing for a variety of astronomical observations. It is primarily used for galactic surveys and has contributed to significant discoveries, such as the detection of the transient event PS1-13cbe in the galaxy SDSS J222153.87+003054.2.
