Data Set Abstract Abstract ======== This data set consists of the MESSENGER Neutron Spectrometer (NS) 'derived' data records (DDRs). The NS experiment is a neutron spectrometer designed to observe neutrons emitted from Mercury's surface in the energy range from 0.01 eV to 7 MeV. There is 1 NS DDR standard data product (Neutron Count Rate, NS_DDR_NCR) and 1 NS DDR special data product (Neutron Composition, NS_DDR_NCP). The NCR data products contain net neutron count rates from the LG1, LG2, and BP sensors and uncertainties from each of these sensors. The NCP data product contains fast and epithermal count rates as a function of latitude, along with simulated count rates for the cases of no hydrogen and for a thick layer of 100 wt. percent water ice in all radar bright regions. This is version 2 of this data set; version 1 has been superceded.
