Instrument Host Overview

This is the 2.7m (107in) Harlan J. Smith Telescope of the
McDonald Observatory.
Observatory
-----------
McDonald Observatory, located in the Davis Mountains of
south central Texas, is run by the University of Texas
at Austin. As of this writing it is operating four
optical telescopes. The observatory is at longitude
104:01.3 W and 30:40.3 N at an altitude of 2075 m.
Telescope
---------
The Harlan J. Smith Telescope has a primary mirror 107
inches in diameter. Three different foci are available,
each with its own instrumentation. The following
