Data Set Overview : The file 'polar.tab' contains the data originally archived in TRIAD and reported in Morrison & Zellner, Asteroids (T. Gehrels, Ed., The University of Arizona Press, 1979) [MORRISON&ZELLNER1979]. It tabulates the reduced values of the polarization curves of the asteroids, namely minimum polarization, inversion angle, and polarimetric slope. For a more complete and up-to-date compilation of asteroid polarimetry, see the Asteroid Polarimetric Database, archived in PDS in the file 'apd.tab'.   Data : The data are included in the file 'polar.tab'.  Modification History -------------------- This data set was first reviewed and ingested in 1996. It is updated now only to correct an error in the unit of one parameter. The units of the parameter 'Pmin' were originally listed as degrees, but have now been corrected to percent.

Confidence Level Overview : This is a compilation of asteroid polarimetry results from the published literature. The user is referred to the individual publications for information on the confidence level of any given observation.   Review : This data set underwent external peer review on Mar. 24, 1997.
