DATA_SET_DESCRIPTION
Data Set Overview : The Juno MWR RDR data set will ultimately include all calibrated MWR science data for the entire Juno mission. This volume will contain only those data obtained through the cruise phase of the Juno mission, when this phase of the mission is completed. The objective for these data is to provide calibration for the MWR instrument; however, it is anticipated that they may someday be useful for astrophysics. This volume consists of calibrated data records, each of which contains all instrumental data required for further processing. The RDR records have a one-to-one correspondence with the EDR records. The RDR files are of two types: Instrument Reduced Data Records (IRDRs), and Geolocation Data Records (GRDRs). These have a one-to-one correspondence with each other as well as with the EDR files. These files comprise the data of primary usefulness to the wider scientific community. Parameters : The fundamental unit of this data set comprises the data obtained during a single 100-ms observation made by the MWR instrument. Each observation does include all of the MWR instrument parameters required for its calibration, which have been interpolated from neighboring records in the original EDRs. Processing : The data included in this volume set were processed by the RDR processing pipeline as described in section 2.3 of the VOLSIS document found under the DOCUMENTS subdirectory. In short, this segment of the pipeline consists of programs which interpolate the instrument parameters in the EDR records required for the calibration of each record, and then performs that calibration to produce the IRDRs. The SPICE toolkit and Juno mission SPICE kernels from the Navigation and Ancillary Information Facility (NAIF) are then used to produce the associated GRDRs. Data : Products in this data set consist of files of time-ordered data corresponding to observations of 100-ms duration each. These are received from the instrument in time-contiguous units of ten observations each, with one unit then corresponding to one second's worth of observation. Successive units may be contiguous in time (full data rate) or separated by n seconds each (reduced data rate). These units are then assembled into contiguous files of one hour length regardless of data rate. Each IRDR and GRDR file has its associated label file, which in total comprise one data record. The details of the collection and formatting of these files is described in Sections 2 and 3, and in Appendix B, of the VOLSIS document found under the DOCUMENTS subdirectory. Ancillary Data : This data set is complete and requires no further data to produce calibrated antenna temperatures. However, antenna pattern knowledge is required for use in an antenna pattern correction to produce calibrated brightness temperatures. Coordinate Systems : Coordinate systems are consistent with those used in SPICE. The instrument coordinant system is further described in section 2.4.6 of the VOLSIS document found under the DOCUMENTS subdirectory. The GRDR locations use the j2000 and galactic coordinant systems found in SPICE. Software : No software is provided to view, interpret, or convert this data set. All files are in ASCII format, however, and are readily readible through standard programs such as textedit, Microwave Excel and Word, etc. Media/Format : This data set is provided to the Planetary Data System by the Juno Science Operation Center (JSOC) as described in section 5.2 of the VOLSIS document found under the DOCUMENTS subdirectory.

CONFIDENCE_LEVEL_NOTE
Confidence Level Overview : This data set contains all instrument packets for the Juno MWR experiment for the interval described in the labels for the individual product files. Every effort has been made to ensure that all data returned to the Juno Science Operations Center from the spacecraft are included, even those packets which fail checksum tests. Review : The MWR calibrated complete data will be reviewed internally by the Juno MWR instrument team prior to release to the PDS. The data set will also be reviewed by the PDS. Data Coverage and Quality : TBD Limitations : Limitations on the data set may be defined as the MWR team gains experience operating the instrument in flight conditions. No limitations are presently known.
