-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Data Product Overview: The Diviner NASA Level 4 Polar Resource Products (PRP) are produced fromthermal model fits to Diviner north and south polar observations fromthe first year of mapping orbit. The derived quantities are: annualaverage surface temperature, annual maximum surface temperature, anddepth to water ice permafrost. The results for the north and southpolar regions are contained in separate ASCII files. Each line of thefile corresponds to a triangular mesh element in a north or south polardigital elevation model derived from the Kaguya laser altimeterexperiment results (Araki et al., Science 223, 897, 2009). The meshconsists of 288000 triangles and covers a square region centered on thepole to 80 degrees latitude. The model approach and model parameters usedgenerate the PRP are described in Paige et al. Science 330, 497 (2010) andin the online supporting material associated with this publication. Thenorth polar PRP's were produced using the same datasets, modelingapproach and model parameters as the south polar PRP. Data Processing Level: The Diviner PRP data products are derived from models and parametersDiviner Reduced Data Record (RDR) data products.PRPs are CODMAC Level 5 (NASA Level 4). Data Product Generation: The Diviner PRP data products and labels are generated by theDiviner Science Team at UCLA. Data Flow: The Diviner PRPs will be made available via a data releaseon March 15, 2011, six months after the end of the first yearof mapping orbit. Review: This archival data set was examined by a peer review panel prior toits acceptance by the Planetary Data System (PDS). The peer reviewwas conducted in accordance with PDS procedures. Prior to creation of the final version of the archival data set,key elements of the archive were distributed for preliminaryreview. These included electronic versions of example PDS labels,CATALOG files, and Software Interface Specifications (SISs).These materials were distributed to PDS personnel, the experimentinvestigator, and others, as appropriate. Known Issues: None.

| ABSTRACT_TEXT |
This data set consists of theDiviner Lunar Radiometer Experiment Polar Resource Productsalso known as PRPs. The DLRE is a surface pushbroom mapper thatmeasures emitted thermal radiation and reflected solar radiationfrom the surface of the moon. Two Diviner solar channels measure 0.3-3 micrometers reflected solarradiation. Three Diviner channels near 8 micrometers classifyregolith mineralogy by mapping the location of the Christiansenfeature. The remaining four Diviner channels measure surfacetemperature in four spectral bands ranging from 12.5 micrometersto beyond 200 micrometers.
