| DATA_SET_DESCRIPTION |
This data set contains map projected data products acquired by the HRSC camera on the Mars Express spacecraft, covering the orbits 18976 to 21487. As part of the processing compressed images are decompressed and radiometrically calibrated (CODMAC level 3). After this the images are converted to 8 bit using a histogram optimized lookup table. Then the optical distorsion is corrected. As the last step the images are map projected. The type of the map projection depends on the latitude of the image center and the extent of the image. Additional geometric information (e.g. footprint and illumination angles) are calculated and included into the image label. Images without useable content (e.g. completely saturated images) are omitted from the data set.
