Pioneer 10 high-resolution magnetic-field data from the Helium Vector Magnetometer (HVM) during Jupiter close encounter period between 1973-11-03T23:34:00 and 1973-12-29T23:10:38. These data are provided in System III (1965) coordinates at the full sampling resolution of the instrument for the telemetry mode at the time of acquisition. The data were provided to PDS/PPI by Joyce Wolf at the request of the Principal Investigator Dr. Edward Smith.

There are some timing (longitude) issues with these data when compared to data at lower sample rates. There were known problems with the spacecraft attitude and articulation subsystem on the spacecraft. When the data were originally reduced and archived, the MAG team corrected the low resolution data and submitted them to the NSSDC. These data were processed and delivered to the PDS many years later and made use of the SPICE kernels that are available for the spacecraft. The resulting computations of position differ slightly from the originally computed and corrected values.
